EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The East Mesa Bataan Memorial Pool will not open as planned for Memorial Day weekend due to necessary repairs, the City of Las Cruces announced in a news release.
The pool is located at 6141 Reynolds Dr.
The City said staff are working with contractors to complete the repairs and ensure the pool can safely reopen later this summer.
An official opening date will be announced when it is available, the City said.
The City is encouraging the public to visit other aquatic facilities during the closure:
- Laabs Pool, 701 W. Picacho Ave. – Two open swim sessions will be offered Tuesday through Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m. and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The pool will be closed on Mondays. The facility opens Saturday, May 24.
- Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, 1401 E. Hadley Ave. – Two open swim sessions are available from noon to 3 p.m. and 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The facility will be open daily beginning Saturday, May 24.
- Las Cruces Natatorium, 1405 E. Hadley Ave. – Lap swim will be available from 6 to 11 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The facility will be closed on Sundays. No reservations are required.
