KTSM News – Brush fire burning in Lincoln County near Fort Stanton

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A brush fire is burning on Sunday evening, May 25 near Fort Stanton in Lincoln County, New Mexico.

Lincoln County Fire Service is reporting on its Facebook page that the fire is about 50 acres in size burning near Fort Stanton.

Fort Stanton is about 30 miles northeast of Ruidoso.

The fire is of unknown origin. There are multi-agencies responding including Lincoln, Capitan, Bonito, Glencoe, Hondo, New Mexico State Forestry and the Bureau of Land Management, Lincoln County Fire Service said.

People are urged to stay out of the area and watch for emergency vehicles.
