Border Report – 2 women among victims of quintuple homicide in Juarez

Posted on June 5, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police are investigating the death of three men and two women found inside a home Wednesday afternoon in southeast Juarez, Mexico.

The deceased were lined up face down on the floor of a living room with their hands tied behind their backs with wire. The victims also had wire around their necks, leading investigators to believe they may have been strangled, police at the scene told Border Report news partner ProVideo.

Fire at drug rehabilitation center kills 12 in violence-plagued Mexican state, authorities say

Residents of the Parajes de San Jose neighborhood alerted police to possible foul play after noticing traces of blood near the front door and a stench coming out of the home.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive. Police in Juarez routinely attribute the majority of homicides to disputes over illicit drug sales – primarily crystal methamphetamine – in working-class neighborhoods.

Hours before the purported quintuple murder, the owner of a property near the Juarez-Casas Grandes Highway called police to report that a dog had dragged a human skull to his front yard. The skull had a large gap on the top.

Juarez police did not say if they’re treating the find as a possible homicide.

The city recorded more than 1,100 murders last year. The find at Parajes de San Jose means Juarez had 14 homicides in the first four days of June.
