EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office will conduct sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout June in efforts to reduce drunk driving-related crashes, injuries, and deaths.
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies will be targeting impaired drivers in various undisclosed locations throughout Doña Ana County.
Enforcement efforts will take place between 12 p.m. and 2 a.m. on select days during June, the Sheriff’s Office said.
“These checkpoints and patrols are part of our ongoing efforts to keep our roadways safe,” Sergeant Jonathon Almanza said. “We want to remind the public to wear their seatbelts at all times and never drive under the influence.”
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies will be actively looking for all traffic violations, with a primary focus on impaired driving.
In addition, the Sheriff’s Office encourages everyone to plan for a safe ride if they intend to consume alcohol.
