KTSM News – Bridge the Badge to tackle police recruitment, academy

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department will discuss the recruitment and hiring campaign for its next academy during its Bridging the Badge livestream.
 
LCPD will begin accepting applications for the new academy on July 7. The next academy is set to begin in January 2026.
 
The Bridging the Badge livestream begins at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, and can be viewed on the Las Cruces Police Department’s Facebook page and on the City of Las Cruces’ YouTube channel.
 
Questions about the academy and hiring process can be left in the comments on LCPD’s Facebook page.
 
Bridging the Badge programs are intended to promote understanding, collaboration, and informed dialogue on topics important to residents of Las Cruces. Each livestream is anticipated to last about one hour.
