EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Funeral services will be held in El Paso for the Arizona police officer who was killed in the line of duty earlier this month.
Gabriel Facio, an El Paso native, worked with the Apache Junction Police Department in Arizona.

Facio was shot during a traffic stop and died six days later on June 8.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18 at Cielo Vista Church, 3585 Lee Trevino. Interment with honors will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr.
The El Paso Police Department said that Facio had served “with passion and pride for nearly four years, including as a member of AJPD’s bike unit.”
Apache Junction is part of the Phoenix metroplex area.
“Our department is honored to assist with his funeral services in his hometown of El Paso, where his journey began,” the El Paso Police Department said in a social media post.
According to the Arizona Republic, Facio was the first Apache Junction Police officer to ever be killed in the line of duty, and his death on June 8 also marked the first Arizona police officer to die this year.
Facio is survived by his wife, daughter, son, grandchild, parents, and his brothers and sisters in law enforcement, according to El Paso Police.
