EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department is hosting a community cleanup, MOC on the Block and Cruise El Paseo event Tuesday, June 24 on El Paseo Road.
The tripleheader event begins with a Community Cleanup from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday along El Paseo Road. LCPD and Keep Las Cruces Beautiful are hosting the cleanup along the El Paseo business district. Two large roll-off trash bins will be in the parking lot of Real Life Church, 1040 El Paseo Rd.
Businesses along El Paseo Road and members of the community are encouraged to help remove trash, debris and remove graffiti during the community cleanup. KLCB will supply trash bags, grabbers, gloves and other supplies for participants.
From 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, LCPD’s MOC, the department’s Mobile Operations Command unit, will be in the Real Life Church parking lot while car enthusiasts are invited to cruise El Paseo Road like teenagers and young adults did back in the 1970s and 1980s.
The Cruise El Paseo will be along the business corridor between Boutz Road and Main Street.
Car enthusiasts are invited to show their rides in the parking lot near the MOC where music and food will be available from local vendors.
LCPD officers and community engagement advocates will be at the MOC from 5-8 p.m. to meet residents and members of the business community to discuss any concerns they may have about crime and safety in their neighborhood.
