Posted on June 23, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 44-year-old man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Wednesday afternoon, June 18, in East El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD).

EPPD said that on Wednesday, the Special Traffic Investigation unit responded to a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred at the 12100 block of New World Drive.

The motorcyclist, later identified as Angel Arturo Hernandez, 44, was traveling eastbound on New World Drive when, for unknown reasons, he locked his brakes, causing the motorcycle to skid and crash, EPPD said.

EPPD said Hernandez was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

This is the 29th traffic fatality of 2025, EPPD said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information is urged to contact the El Paso Police Department at (915) 832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477 (TIPS).
