EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Army hospital at Fort Bliss is getting a new commanding officer this week.


The William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) will have a change of command ceremony at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in the dining facility of the hospital’s campus, according to a news release sent by the WBAMC.
The incoming commander, Col. Wendy L. Gray, recently served as the chief of staff for Medical Readiness Command West for the past year, according to the WBAMC.
WBAMC said that before that, she served in clinical and leadership positions at Brooke Army Medical Center and Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
The outgoing commander, Col. Lee C. Freeman, is a Medical Service Corps officer who commissioned in 1997 from the Virginia Military Institute. He began his WBAMC command tenure on June 15, 2023, according to the news release.
