EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Psst…Yeah, you. I got a secret that could get me kicked out of the knife community.
You see, I can live without a pocket knife in my daily carry, but I can’t live without a pen and a notebook.
As a working journalist for the past 40 years, having a quality pen and something to write on are absolutely mission critical.

While I love my pocket knives, I can go days without really needing one for anything critical.
Recently, a new EDC and knife buddy from YouTube channel Titanium Justin sent me some pocket-sized notebooks to check out.
Justin, a professional artist, hand-paints each one. It’s a process that takes 30 or 40 minutes per notebook.
It’s time consuming but what he comes up with are unique notebook covers – family-friendly images of knife characters, monsters and skulls.
They are the same size as traditional pocket notebooks, like Field Notes and Log + Jotter – at 3 ½ inches wide by 5 1/2 inches tall.
These style of notebooks can fit into a wide variety of EDC pouches or even just slide into your back pocket.
Justin comes up with notebook designs that can give your everyday carry some character and flair.
The covers are made out of a light cardboard-type material and they are filled with 64 blank pages, giving you plenty of room to take notes, sketch or doodle, whatever it is that you need a notebook for.
Adding to the individual vibe of these notebooks, Justin signs each one.
They truly come off as being a piece of art.
But he doesn’t want you to treat them as such. He wants you to use the notebooks for their intended purpose.
He charges $10 for the first notebook and then $5 for each one after.
He said he tries to keep prices low so people feel free to actually use them.
Any money he makes, he sinks back into his YouTube channel, Titanium Justin, to buy more gear to showcase.
Like I said up top, I am big on notebooks. I’ve been a Log + Jotter subscriber for about two years.

For $5 each month, you get a unique pocket notebook in the mail. You can only buy L+J notebooks on a subscription basis.
You can find out Log + Jotter by clicking here.
I am looking forward to trying out Justin’s notebooks and using them to augment and change up my EDC.
