EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Current Irvin High School Principal Bobby Stives will also serve as principal at Transmountain Early College High School (TMECHS), according to a news release by the El Paso Independent School District on Thursday, June 26.
According to the news release, Stives will serve as principal to both high schools beginning the 2025-2026 school year.

“Irvin gave me my foundation, and I’ve always believed in giving back to the community that raised me,” Stives said. “Now, having the opportunity to also lead Transmountain Early College High School, a campus known for its rigorous academics and college-readiness focus, is an incredible honor.”
El Paso ISD said Stives brings over two decades of experience and a “deep-rooted passion for education” to the dual-appointed positions.
Stives, a 1994 Irvin High School graduate, began his career as a substitute teacher before earning his alternative certification and returning to his alma mater to teach business classes, El Paso ISD said.
Stives also served as an assistant principal at Austin, Andress and Coronado high schools before being appointed as Irvin High School’s principal in 2023, El Paso ISD said.
“His strong leadership at Irvin High School, paired with his student-centered approach and extensive background in secondary education, makes him well-positioned to support both campuses and their unique cultures of academic excellence,” read the news release by El Paso ISD.
