KTSM News – Listicle: Fourth of July events in Borderland

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Celebrate Independence Day with events being held by various borderland organizations and groups.

Here’s a list of events that your family can enjoy:

City of Socorro Independence Day Xtravaganza

The Independence Day Xtravaganza will be from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at Cougar Park, 10664 Socorro Rd.

The free, family-friendly event will feature various food trucks, over 25 vendors, games, and giveaways. Alcohol will also be available for purchase for individuals 21 years and older.

Additionally, Latin Grammy award-winning Tejano artist Michael Salgado will be performing at 7:30 p.m.

Finally, the night will conclude with a fireworks display.

Rooftop celebration at La Perla

La Perla will be hosting a rooftop celebration from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. on Friday, July 4. Those who attend can enjoy new seasonal cocktails, live music, and a direct view of the fireworks show at Southwest University Park following the El Paso FC Locomotive game.

“Freedom, Food Trucks, and Fireworks” this 4th of July

El Paso County Parks and Recreation is back at Ascarate Park for its annual 4th of July celebration from 4 to 10 p.m. at 6900 Delta Dr.

The family-friendly celebration will feature the following, according to the County:

  • Food trucks with a variety of delicious eats
  • Swimming at Ascarate Pool from noon to 5 p.m. (limited capacity)
  • An exclusive VIP Picnic Party with front-row fireworks viewing
  • And of course, a dazzling fireworks show over Ascarate Lake at approximately 9:20 p.m.

The County said tickets are $45 for adults and $10 for youth (ages 6–17).

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The public can also reach the office by phone at (915) 273-3501; however, this office will be closed on July 4th.

Fourth of July at Cleveland Square Park

The City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a free and family-friendly Fourth of July celebration in Downtown El Paso.

The event will be from 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at Cleveland Square Park, located at 510 N. Santa Fe St.

Music groups The Roulettes and Redemption Band will be performing at the celebration.

In addition to live performances, there will also be a variety of snacks and beverage vendors, the City said.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy at the park, the City said.

48th Annual Fourth of July Parade, sponsored by the El Paso Del Norte Lions

The El Paso Del Norte Lions will be hosting the 48th annual 4th of July parade.

The free event will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 4, at Hanks High School, at the intersection of Montwood and Lee Trevino.

According to the news release by the El Paso Del Norte Lions, the parade route is as follows: on Montwood to Yarbrough, North to Album Avenue, onto Album Park.

While the event is free, donations are welcome.

27th annual Rotary Independence Day Parade

Parade begins at 9 a.m. at Mesa and Shadow Mountain on Friday, July 4.

The parade is presented by the Rotary Club of West El Paso.
