EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 44-year-old man who is the owner of a garbage disposal company has been arrested for illegal dumping, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Abraham Ryan Romero, 44, owner of Road Runner Disposal, was arrested on Thursday, July 3 and charged with one count of illegal dumping of more than 1,000 pounds or more than 200 cubic feet. His bond was set at $2,000.

On June 23, deputies were called out to the 500 block of North Ascension Street in East El Paso County after receiving a report about suspected illegal dumping.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered over 200 cubic feet of waste unlawfully dumped on a private lot, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A joint investigation was conducted by patrol deputies and detectives from the Peter J. Herrera Patrol Station Criminal Investigations Division.
Through their efforts, investigators identified Romero, a resident of the 200 block of Emerald Sun and owner of Road Runner Disposal, as the individual responsible for dumping the waste on property not authorized as a solid waste site, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Sheriff Oscar Ugarte reminds the public that illegal dumping is a criminal offense in the State of Texas and urges residents to report any suspected illegal dumping activity to their local law-enforcement agency.
