Border Report – ‘Cabo 64,’ primary instigator of cartel violence in Tijuana, arrested, police say

Posted on July 7, 2025

SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — A man investigators are calling “Cabo 64,” was arrested over the weekend in Tijuana, a huge blow to organized crime in Baja California, according to Mexico’s National Secretary of Defense.

Cabo 64’s real name is Cristian Jonathan “N.”

He is being held for a homicide committed six years ago, but police say he is likely responsible for many other murders throughout the region.

Last Friday, state police and members of Mexico’s National Guard pulled over a white Honda Civic for speeding and for driving erratically, and inside the car they found and arrested “Cabo 64.”

They describe the 29-year-old as the mastermind of several attacks and killings in the Northern Baja region in recent years.
