EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority reports that it had three calls about discolored water in the month of June, according to its voluntary monthly disclosure on discolored water released on Tuesday, July 8.
CRRUA, which provides water and wastewater service in Sunland Park and Santa Teresa, has been criticized for discolored water in the past.

Discolored water calls include brown or yellow water, the utility said.
Causes include waterline breaks, water wells returning to service and hydrant flushes that disturb naturally occurring sediments that accumulate in the distribution system over time, and issues within the home associated with water heaters, water softeners and water filtration systems, the utility said.
The utility had one call about discolored water in both April and May.
