EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 28-year-old man was arrested on two warrants, including failure to comply with a gun surrender, in a vehicle stop on Wednesday, July 9, according to the news release by the El Paso County Constable’s Office for Precinct 3.
According to the Constable’s Office, Jonathan Vargas was arrested on two active warrants: failure to comply with a gun surrender and no show at a compliance hearing.

Vargas was booked into the County Jail without further incident, the Constable’s Office said.
On July 9, a sergeant with the department received information about active warrants for Vargas, the Constable’s Office said.
According to the Constable’s Office, Vargas is a respondent on a protective order that was issued on June 6.
Additionally, Vargas was ordered to surrender a firearm by June 6, the Constable’s Office said.
Vargas was the passenger in a vehicle stop that was conducted by the sergeant, where he was then taken into custody and charged with the warrants, the Constable’s Office said.
