There are memories all along the Guadalupe River. Just ask the volunteers, former camp counselors, and residents of the area. They’ll all point to their sacred spots. Memories hang in the trees on rope swings and swim below them in the waters. They were made around campfires and on early-morning walks along the river’s banks.Evidence of those memories is now strewn about in bright colors, contrasting with the bleak and sobering brown landscape left by the receding floodwaters.As I walked along the hardest-hit areas searching for flood victims, each object I found represented someone.
