EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The New Mexico Environmental Department (NMED) has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for the Ruidoso area on Friday, July 11.
According to the news release by the NMED, the department is coordinating with multiple public water systems following the severe flooding.
The following public water systems have a precautionary boil water advisory, the NMED said:

| Ruidoso Water System – Upper Canyon Area | Ruidoso | 15,947 | Village has issued precautionary boil water advisory for Upper Canyon area of their system |
NMED says residents and businesses using water from these systems should boil water for at least one minute before the following uses:
- Drinking
- Making coffee, tea and other drinks
- Making ice
- Cooking
- Washing fruits and vegetables
- Using water to feed a baby
- Brushing teeth
- Providing drinking water for pets
In contrast, the NMED says the following systems reported no significant impact or service disruptions:

According to the news release, NMED will continue to work with water systems and local officials to assist in recovery efforts.
