EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Emergence Health Network (EHN) invites El Paso families to learn about emotional wellness with its Family Mental Health Day this Saturday.
The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 12 at La Nube STEAM Discovery Center, located at 201 West Main Dr.
According to the news release by EHN, the event encourages families to explore interactive stations throughout La Nube that support emotional well-being in creative and engaging ways.
“As the Local Mental Health Authority in El Paso, EHN is always seeking innovative ways to promote mental wellness in our community,” Noreen Jaramillo, director of communications at EHN, said. “We’re thrilled to partner with La Nube for this special event that combines family fun with meaningful emotional health activities.”
EHN highlights the following stations that families can interact with on Family Mental Health Day:
- Sound Garden Experience – encourages mindfulness through sound exploration.
- Giggle Goo – highlights the healing power of laughter.
- Folded Thoughts Origami – uses the calming rhythm of paper folding to support relaxation and focus.
- Bubble Garden – promoting stress-free moments of delight.
- Feelings to Splat – safe place to splatter and express big emotions through bold colors.
- My Colors, My Light – create your own sun catcher that reflects your personal colors
“These hands-on experiences are not only fun, but they also provide valuable tools that families can take home to support emotional wellness,” Jaramillo said.
EHN said that the first 400 guests who attend Family Mental Health Day will receive free admission.
In addition to the various activities, EHN will also host story time, where participants can enjoy a group reading of “My Many-Colored Days” by Dr. Seuss, the news release read. Twenty-five lucky attendees will receive a free copy of the book.
“We’re so grateful to our team of EHN therapists who collaborated closely with La Nube staff to develop these meaningful activities,” Jaramillo said. “This event is all about helping families feel comfortable talking about emotions and learning how to support each other. We’re building healthy minds together.”
