EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 57-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly was involved in a crash and showed signs of being intoxicated, Horizon City Police said.
Horizon Police said he had at least three prior convictions for DWI.
At about 3 p.m. Saturday, July 12, officers with Horizon Police responded to reports of a crash in the areas of Kenazo and Peter Noyes Drive.
Officers found the driver, identified as Bernardo JR Carrasco, who showed signs of intoxication, according to Horizon Police.
Carrasco was taken to the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was charged with driving while intoxicated with three or more convictions and collision involving damage to a vehicle with bond totaling $61,500.
Assistant Police Chief Jose Kluge said: “Driving while intoxicated is a serious offense which places our community in danger. Please ensure you use a ride share or make other arrangements for transportation if you are away from home and plan on drinking.”
