EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 30-year-old motorcyclist collided with a guardrail on an interchange heading to Loop 375 and later died from his injuries, El Paso Police said.
The crash happened just before 1:30 a.m. on July 4 along Interstate 10 at the interchange heading to Loop 375 in far East El Paso, police said.
John Tobias, 30, was riding with a group of other motorcyclists when they exited I-10 to head onto the interchange going to Loop 375.
Police said Tobias got separated from the group, which was driving in front of a truck.
The truck continued south on Loop 375 and “for unknown reasons,” Tobias hit the center guardrail at the top of the interchange, police said.
Tobias was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police said that Tobias was not wearing a helmet.
