EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Parents can now find an indoor playground for kids in East El Paso that offers sensory-safe play for kids with autism, special disabilities, and neurotypical development.
We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym is located at 1410 Lee Trevino Dr. in East El Paso. It is an international kids’ gym franchise that promotes a welcoming sensory-safe play environment for kids that are both on and outside the autism spectrum.

The playground features 12 pieces of therapeutic equipment that are designed to work with many of the sensory processing issues that children on the spectrum face, according to a news release by the company.

The release also reads that the “specially designed” sensory equipment provides children with the sensory “diet” necessary for improved learning and neurological development.
Martin and Andrea Morales are the owners of the new location in East El Paso. Their older son is on the autism spectrum which is what motivated them to bring a franchise location here.
Andrea Morales said that it can be challenging for parents of an autistic kid to find a place where their children can have fun without being overstimulated, or where they won’t feel judged by people who may not understand their challenges.
“When I go to other places, they are very wide open or I’m always worried that my son is going to get lost or stuff like that. I know that other moms feel like me. We don’t go to places like that because we get scared that they can get lost, they can get harmed, or other people are not going to know what they have — because they are different. They socialize differently,” Morales said.
Each We Rock the Spectrum location offers unique classes, children’s day camp opportunities, arts and crafts, additional pieces of play equipment, and more.
