EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — It’s Mutt Monday at KTSM!
This week, our friends from El Paso Animal Services brought Alice for us to meet and hang out with!

Today is National Craft for Your Shelter Day. This day encourages people to create handmade items for local animal shelters, providing comfort and enrichment for the animals awaiting adoption.
El Paso Animal Services has tons of opportunities for the whole family to get involved, such as the following:
- The monthly Volunteer Orientation for ages 14+ is this Thursday at 6 p.m. Help bottle-feed kittens, walk dogs, fold laundry, assist with data entry, and pretty much anything else you’d like to help out with.
- The Kitty Reading Book Club, for ages 8-13, orientation is next Thursday, July 31, at 6 p.m. Kids can read to cats and kittens (with a parent) to help them socialize while practicing reading skills.
- Two workshops will be held this week, one for teens this Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and an adult workshop this Friday, from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
All of these are great ways to start crafting for your shelter today and make a direct impact on pets in need.
You can register for any of these programs by emailing EPAS@elpasotexas.gov today.
El Paso Animal Services and KTSM are ready to help you find your perfect match!
