EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 53-year-old man was arrested and charged with theft after he was caught on security cameras hiding items in his backpack, according to the Horizon City Police Department in a news release.
Police said Oscar Prieto Macias, 53, was arrested on July 27 for theft of property of more than $2,500, with two more convictions and criminal trespass.
He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a $5,000 bond, police said.
Police said that shortly after 4 p.m. on July 27, officers responded to a theft call at 13900 Horizon Blvd.
Store employees recognized Prieto Macias, who had previously been issued a criminal trespass notice, and observed him on security cameras hiding items in his backpack.
