El Paso Taxpayer Revolt – CITY, COUNTY, AND UMC TO INCREASE TAX ON AVERAGE HOME BY $336!

Posted on August 8, 2025

[[{“value”:”

The City is increasing its property tax on the average home value ($221,726) by $83, with no resistance from Mayor Johnson, who had promised to lower our tax.

UMC just adopted a tax rate that comes with a $72 increase, thanks to the $396.6M bond the voters approved in November.

And then there is the County, which is poised to raise our tax by an additional $181, the highest allowed by law without triggering an election. You can thank Samaniego, Butler, Stout, and Coronado for that one.

Thus, the total average increase will be $336, the tragic result of political and corporate greed.

We predict that more seniors than ever will be forced from their homes and that the population of our City will continue to stagnate.

We are the only news outlet reporting the $336 figure.
