EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Aug. 8 is National Custard Day and KTSM 9 News had the chance to celebrate it at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers.
Even though the national observance took place on Friday, Freddy’s is celebrating all weekend long until Aug. 10.
“Here at Freddy’s, we celebrate it all weekend long, so it goes through the 10th for us. And we also have a deal with our app,” Michael Sturges, Freddy’s general manager, said.
Sturges said if that you have the app, you get the following deals: $1 mini frost or shake, $2 regular frost or shake and $3 large frost or shake.
One of the newest flavors at Freddy’s is the Dr. Pepper Frost, which Sturges is highly recommending to the community.
“I enjoy that one. I had it a couple of times myself and it tastes just like a Dr. Pepper,” Sturges said.
In addition to celebrating National Custard Day on Friday, Sturges said they partnered with El Paso Animal Services and their Clear the Shelters event.
Sturges said that Freddy’s customers who stopped by the event and adopted a cat, were also getting a free regular custard from them on its West El Paso location at 6450 N. Desert Blvd.
