AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — Two people are dead and two others are hurt after a shooting at a Target in north Austin, Texas, Monday afternoon, according to a news flash sent to Austin City Council and the mayor obtained by Nexstar’s KXAN.
Austin police said the shooting occurred at the Target located at 8601 Research Boulevard just before 3 p.m., the post said.
Austin Police said the suspect was still at large. More information was expected to come in a media briefing.
The suspect is described as a white male possibly wearing khaki shorts and a Hawaiian/floral shirt.
Police urged the community to stay away from the Target store.
“DO NOT APPROACH. For your safety avoid the area,” police said.
Roads in the area were also closed off Monday afternoon.
