EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Colorado and is being extradited to El Paso County to face charges in the March shooting death of another man in Fabens, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Monday, Aug. 11, Angel Lozano, 23, was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service’s Colorado Violent Offender Task Force and booked into the Weld County Jail in Greeley, Colorado.

He will be returned to face charges in the death of 26-year-old Aaron Villa, the Sheriff’s Office said.
In the early morning hours of March 20, deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office were sent out to the 100 block of Mezcla Street in Fabens about a shots fired or aggravated assault incident.
When deputies arrived, they found a man who had been shot multiple times.
The victim, later identified as Villa, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
During the investigation, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, with help from the Texas Rangers, identified Lozano as the suspect.
“This arrest is the result of tireless investigative work and the strong partnerships we maintain with our state and federal law enforcement counterparts,” Sheriff Oscar Ugarte said. “My deepest condolences go out to the family of Mr. Villa. We remain committed to ensuring that those who commit acts of violence in our community are held accountable.”
