EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 36-year-old man has been arrested after he pointed a handgun at another vehicle in Westway in El Paso County, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Luis Daniel Delgado, 36, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 11 on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and other charges, the Sheriff’s Office said.
At about 6:45 p.m. Monday, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Westway Boulevard and De Alva Drive about a subject with a firearm.
The person who called in the incident told deputies that the subject, identified as Delgado, had pointed a handgun at him and other occupants in his vehicle.
Deputies found Delgado’s vehicle, initiating a felony traffic stop in the 8000 block of Kiely Road, across the freeway in Vinton.
Delgado was taken into custody without incident, and a loaded handgun was recovered from inside his vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office said.
He was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility. In addition to a chage of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, he is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated with an open container and unlawful carrying of a firearm. His bonds total $23,000.
