EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — U.S. Sen John Cornyn, R-Texas, says he got a “windshield tour” of what is to be the nation’s largest immigration detention center on Monday.
Cornyn spoke with reporters after visiting the facility on Fort Bliss.
The facility is expected to start receiving migrants on Aug. 17 and will eventually be able to hold up to 5,000 people.
In this episode of Border Report Live, correspondent Julian Resendiz discusses what federal officials told the senator about the types of people who will be held at Camp East Montana.
Plus, south of the border, the president of Mexico says she supports legislation that calls for her country to take in orphans from Palestine and what she said about the ongoing conflict with Israel.
