EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso area was hit with some hard rain on Tuesday evening, Aug. 12, particularly hard hit was the Kern Place area near UTEP.
There are reports of cars stranded in West El Paso and on the Eastside too.
No injuries have been reported as of 10 p.m.
El Paso Fire is reporting that multiple vehicles were stuck in water in the area around Mesa and Cincinnati and Mesa and McKelligon. A Fire Department spokesperson said that people had to get themselves out to their vehicles.
The Fire Department is asking the Police Department to close down streets in those areas in the Kern Place area that were hit with floods.
The Fire Department also reported cars stalled in floodwaters on the Eastside near Rojas and the Westside near Porfirio Diaz.
El Paso Fire says that there have been no injuries, just reports of high waters.
Fire Department is also requesting that police close I-10 at Downtown on-ramp.
