KTSM News – Socorro man sentenced to state prison for ‘massive’ crime spree

Posted on August 13, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old man, who admitted to manufacturing and selling drugs and repeatedly stealing from neighbors during multiple crime sprees between 2019 and 2024, was sentenced to state prison last week.

Sheriff’s Office: ‘Repeat offender’ linked to other thefts

The El Paso District Attorney’s Office made the announcement on Wednesday, Aug. 13, in a news release.

Armando Bejarano. 39, from Socorro, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 7, to 24 felony offenses in the 168th District Court, according to the DA’s Office.

Man with ‘extensive record’ arrested again after alleged chase with police

Bejarano pleaded guilty to multiple first-degree, second-degree, third-degree, and state jail felonies, including: three counts of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance, 13 counts of theft of property, two counts of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, two counts of criminal mischief, as well as unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, burglary of a building, abandoning/endangering a child, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, according to the DA’s Office.

Bejarano was sentenced to 15 years in state prison on each of the first and second-degree counts. He also received the maximum 10 years on each third-degree felony charge and the maximum of two years on each of the state jail felonies, according to the DA’s Office.

Man arrested 27 times, has ‘extensive criminal history’

The DA’s Office said the sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time. Bejarano also waived his right to all appeals.

“For too long, this Defendant wrecked havoc on his neighbors by stealing and vandalizing their property, dealing drugs in their neighborhood, and engaging in other lawless behavior,” said District Attorney James Montoya. “My Office is committed to not only resolving our oldest pending cases but prioritizing prosecutions against repeat offenders like this Defendant.”

In addition, the DA’s Office said Assistant District Attorney Linda Estrada represented the State of Texas in the prosecution of this case.
