EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Speaking Rock and all Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo facilities are closed due to the death of tribal leader Cacique Jose Sierra Sr, according to a social media post by the entertainment center on Saturday morning, Aug. 16.
Here is the social media post from the pueblo, announcing the death of “our beloved Cacique Jose Sierra Sr.”
All Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo facilities will be closed until further notice, and the upcoming TLC concert at Speaking Rock has been canceled.
As KTSM 9 previously reported, Sierra Sr. was elected cacique on Dec. 31, 2024, and took office on Jan. 6.
