EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A structure fire damaged a home on early Monday morning, Aug. 25, in Las Cruces.

Just before 1 a.m. on Monday, firefighters responded to a home on Silverado Loop in reference to a structure fire.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire coming from a residential building, according to Las Cruces Fire.
The first responding engine arrived within minutes of dispatch and immediately gained access to the residence, allowing crews to knock down the fire quickly.
After the initial knockdown, interior crews were able to determine that the fire had involved the attic of the home, but they were able to extinguish the fire within minutes and kept it from extending throughout the building, according to Las Cruces Fire.
Responding engine crews had initial water issues as the hydrant near the home had low pressure, but they were able to overcome those issues.
Additional units were assigned to search for, support, and assist with the water supply.
Las Cruces Police officers also assisted a homeowner to safety as they were forced to exit the home from the back door and needed assistance with locked side gates. However, no injuries were reported, according to Las Cruces Fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There is no estimate of damage at this time.
