EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso Department of Public Health and the El Paso Fire Department will be offering free flu vaccines to people 6 months of age and older through the Be POWERflu campaign.
The flu shots are provided at any of the City’s four community clinics.
The clinics require no appointment or insurance, and are open for vaccinations Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They are closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays. They are located at:
- Westside, 7380 Remcon
- Henderson, 721 S. Mesa
- Northeast, 9566 Railroad
- Mission Valley, 9341 Alameda
The kickoff of this campaign will begin in partnership with the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens at the following events, which will feature free vaccines and giveaways:
Family Preparedness Event
- 9 a.m. to Noon
- Saturday, September 6
- Veterans Park, 5301 Salem
Drive-Thru Be PowerFlu Event
- 2 to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 9
- El Paso Zoo Parking Lot, 4001 E. Paisano
“The Be POWERflu campaign aims to reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalizations caused by flu-related complications. The vaccine is available for all individuals for whom it is approved, in accordance with current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations,” read the news release by the City of El Paso.
