EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The extreme obstacle course at Gallegos Park was recently completed and has had plenty of renovations done within the last couple of years.
El Paso County Commissioner Sergio Coronado Pct. 4, says Gallegos Park had an all-abilities playground completed in 2023, a million-dollar skate park that was completed a couple of months ago, and plenty of trees have been planted within the last two years.
Coronado says they also recently opened the adventure course at the park, and the two ball courts are in the process of being completed.
The extreme obstacle course at Gallegos Park was also recently completed and was designed for pre-teens and teens.
Coronado says they were able to secure over $26 million from the Texas Parks and Wildlife, and the entire funding was for five different parks.
Coronado says obstacle courses are going up at Estrella Park, Gallegos Park, and Ascarate Park, and renovations will include parks around the County, including Westway Park.
The renovations don’t include other projects that are pending from the bonds that were approved in November, Coronado said.
“Somebody sent me a picture of people out there at the Westway Park enjoying the afternoon. So its great to see that the people are enjoying these amenities.”
