EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man and a woman were arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 3, for endangering a child due to “reckless and negligent actions” while driving, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO) in a news release.

On Wednesday, deputies were patrolling the 14700 block of Horizon Boulevard when they observed a red pickup truck traveling over the posted speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop and noted both the driver, identified as 22-year-old Mark Galindo, and the passenger, 20-year-old Evelyn Villa, were wearing their seat belts.
However, during the investigation, deputies discovered Villa was holding a nine-month-old child on her lap without proper restraint, according to EPCSO.
Galindo and Villa were arrested for endangering a child under a $1,000 bond as they “placed the child in imminent danger of serious bodily injury due to their reckless and negligent actions.”
They both were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
