EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Las Cruces Police have found no evidence of a credible threat after investigating a social media post alleging a threat to Camino Real Middle School, and will have an increased police presence at the school on Monday, Sept. 8, out of an abundance of caution.
Police say they’re aware of a social media post circulating online that alleged a threat towards Camino Real Middle School.
Officers and investigators looked into the matter and found no evidence that indicates the threat is credible.
Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence at the school on Monday.
“We know threats toward schools cause fear and anxiety for students, parents and staff. LCPD takes online threats against schools seriously and we remain committed to the safety of students and educators.”

Those who see something concerning should immediately report it to police and refrain from sharing social media threats, as they can only spread fear and potential misinformation.
