EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 25-year-old man who was spotted parked illegally ended up being arrested on drug possession charges, Horizon City Police said.
Shemar Daquan Lowery, 25, was arrested on Aug. 29 and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
At about 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 29, Horizon City Police were conducting an active patrol in the area of the 14000 block of Kingston.
Officers saw a passenger vehicle parked illegally with a single person inside, police said.
During the investigation, officers identified the driver as Lowery. In plain view, officers observed drug paraphernalia, police said.
Further investigation led to the discovery of a crystalized substance consistent with methamphetamine. The substance was tested and confirmed to be methamphetamine with a weight of 2 grams, Horizon Police said.
Lowery was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $2,500 personal-recognizance bond.
