EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man has died and a woman was injured after a shooting early Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, in East El Paso, El Paso Police Detective Judy Oviedo said.
Oviedo said they responded at around 3:30 a.m. at the 1700 block of Dale Douglas to a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a woman and a man who had been shot, Oviedo said.
Oviedo says the woman was transported to a local hospital. However, the man died as a result of his injuries.
The woman is in her 20s, and the man was in his 30s, Oviedo said.
“We don’t know what the relationship is between the two individuals,” Oviedo said.
No one is currently detained, and officials are still investigating the incident. Oviedo added that this is an isolated incident.
The Crimes Against Persons unit is at the scene investigating the incident, and streets in the area will be shut down for four to six hours, Oviedo said.
“If you have children who are attending school in the area, please look for an alternative route,” Oviedo said.
