EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Smalls Sliders, a burger slider franchise based in New Orleans, opened its first location in El Paso, and people were seen lining up at the drive-thru during its grand opening on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
The location is the first one established in El Paso, and Smalls Sliders Area Coach Rosa Lopez says the franchise chose to expand in the Borderland because of the supportive community.
“We wanted to start in El Paso. We wanted to see how it would do, and I think everyone is pretty excited out here,” Lopez said.
Smalls Sliders offers an orange tin can decor that stands out, along with a drive-thru and a cozy outdoor patio.

The spot offers a simple menu of cooked-to-order cheeseburger sliders, waffle fries, shakes, and their house-made queso.
Lopez says guests can walk up to the order window, which is located by the outdoor patio, and place their order. The franchise only has outdoor seating.
Lopez says the franchise is better than other burger spots because the food is simple to eat, and they have their staple house-made queso.
The spot is located on 12130 Montwood Dr. in East El Paso and is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. through 10 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, the spot closes at 11 p.m.
“I want to invite the community to come on out and check us out,” Lopez said.
The franchise plans on expanding in West Texas, Nevada, and Arizona.
