EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso County Constable’s Office for Precinct 3 said it made two arrests this week in its continuing efforts to combat non-payment of child support.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, deputies from the Constable’s Office arrested 61-year-old Benjamin Mata on an active warrant for failing to pay child support.
Mata had failed to appear at a court hearing and disregarded the court’s child support orders, the Constable’s Office said.
Mata was located along the 200 block of Carnes and taken into custody. He was booked into the County Jail without further incident, the Constable’s Office said.
The warrant had been issued on April 13, 2016 and Mata had eluded law enforcement, the Constable’s Office said.
As of September, Mata owed over $17,000 in child support, the Constable’s Office said.

De Leon had failed to appear in court and disregarded the court’s child support order, the Constable’s Office said.
