EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 19-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to flee from deputies twice in separate incidents, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Octavio Cardoza Jr., 19, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 12 and is facing the following charges: two counts of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; and one count of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. He is being held without bond.
On Sept. 8, deputies tried to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Mark Jason and Buffalo Bill in East El Paso County. The driver refused to comply and fled the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Through a followup investigation, deputies identified the driver as Cardoza. The investigation also linked him to a separate incident on Aug. 26 in which he fled from another traffic stop initiated by deputies.
