EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A Fabens woman was arrested after her 4-year-old child was seen alone walking aimlessly along the street with her dog earlier this week in Fabens, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPCSO).

Janely Reyes, 26, from Fabens, was charged with three counts of abandoning or endangering a child under a $30,000 total bond. She was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
Shortly after 2:20 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of N. Fabens Road regarding a report of a child found unattended.
Upon arrival, deputies were met by several witnesses who said they located a 4-year-old child walking aimlessly along the street with her dog, “Rocky,” according to EPCSO.
The child was unable to provide basic identifying information, such as her birthday or address, but stated she could guide deputies to her home.
Deputies escorted the child to a residence in the 100 block of NW CC Camp Street, and upon arrival, deputies discovered the residence was unlocked and unsupervised.
Inside, deputies located two children, ages 6 and 9, both left without adult supervision and without any means to contact emergency services, according to EPCSO.
Further investigation revealed that the three children were supposed to be in the care of their mother, Reyes, who had left the residence for an unknown reason, exposing the children to unnecessary danger, EPCSO added.
Child Protective Services was notified and made aware of the situation.
