EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A registered sex offender was arrested on a probation violation charge after he was allegedly found to have pornography depicting a juvenile, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Friday, Sept. 19, deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration and Tracking (SORT) Team and Adult Probation took Andy Perez, 35, into custody, the Sheriff’s Office said.
During a compliance check with Adult Probation, deputies did a report on a parolee and registered sex offender — identified as as Perez — after discovering pornography believed to depict a juvenile, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A bench warrant was issued for Perez for probation violation related to his original charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Perez was arrested on Friday, Sept. 19. He was booked for probation violation for his original charge. He is being held without bond, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
