EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Five teenagers were shot during an altercation Monday night at an apartment complex in East El Paso, and one person is in custody, El Paso police said.

The incident happened just before 9 p.m. at an apartment complex along the 10700 block of Montana.
Five teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 were shot during an altercation, police said.
A person shot at a group of teenagers during the altercation, striking five people, police said.
One person — a girl — is described as having possible critical injuries. The other four people have what are being called non-life-threatening injuries.
One person — a 15-year-old — is in custody, police said.
The investigation is still in its early stages. Crimes Against Persons, the Gang Unit, and the Crime Scene Unit have all responded and are working the case.
The area will be closed for a while, police said.
