KTSM News – Fire hydrants getting flushed in parts of Santa Teresa

Posted on September 23, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Sunland Park Fire Department is conducting hydrant flushing and testing on Tuesday, Sept. 23 in a couple of different locations in the Santa Teresa area.

The operatoin will be done in the Valencia and Valencia Hills areas of Santa Teresa, the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority said.

The actions may result in discolored water due to the disturbance of naturally occurring minerals in the distribution system. CRRUA recommends waiting for the water to become clear before washing laundry.

The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours. If it does not, flush cold water faucets for several minutes.
