EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old man has been arrested after he barricaded himself inside a home and tried to hide within the home’s walls, Socorro Police said.
Francisco Jahir Silva, 39, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 17 and was booked on the following charges: evading arrest or detention; assault causing bodily injury; and continuous violence against the family. He is being held on no bond, Socorro Police said.
On Sept. 17, Socorro Police attempted to find a man wanted for assault and evading arrest near the 600 block of Maxine Drive in Socorro.
While in the area, police saw a man forcibly pull a woman out of a home and assault here, eventually throwing her to the sidewalk, police said.
Officers tried to intervene but the suspect fled back into his home and barricaded himself inside.
Police identified Silva as the wanted subject.
The residence was contained, and officers eventually made their way inside, locating Silva concealed within the walls of the home. He was taken into custody without further incident.
