EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A loving and caring human being is how Robert Chavez, director of the El Paso Fashion Week, remembered 21-year-old Mia Molina, one of the shooting victims killed on Wednesday.
As KTSM reported, four people — two men and two women — were critically injured after a shooting near the El Paso Police Department headquarters that happened in broad daylight.
Police said three of them died. Two of them, Victoria Whitman and Molina, died after they were shot. A 59-year-old remains hospitalized. Uriel Ontiveros also died; however, he took his own life after shooting the other three, police investigators said Thursday.
Chavez told KTSM he had known Molina since she was a teen. She was a model who won the title of Top Model USA through El Paso Fashion Week.

Additionally, loved ones say Molina had just graduated from New Mexico State University with her Bachelor’s degree.
“Mia was a beautiful angel that honestly, she was always willing to help others. You know, she was such a loving and caring human being. Her parents were everything to Mia. Her sisters, you know, her siblings Mia always had a special love for them, you know?” Chavez said.
El Paso police say the investigation remains active. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the El Paso Police Department or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
