EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 21-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night, Sept. 26, on Interstate 10 West in East-Central El Paso.
As KTSM previously reported, just before 10 p.m. on Friday, El Paso Police shut down I-10 West at Geronimo in response to a pedestrian on the roadway.


Preliminary investigation revealed that Kevin Lopez-Vasquez, 21, was struck by a vehicle and died due to his injuries, according to El Paso Police.
Police attribute the pedestrian on the roadway to be the main contributing factor for the crash.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking for the public’s help. If anyone has any information on the crash, they are asked to contact the El Paso Police Department at (915) 832-4400 or Crime Stoppers of El Paso at (915) 566-8477 to remain anonymous.
This is the 46th traffic fatality of 2025 inside the city limits compared to 50 last year.
